EDIT: 18th Feb – Same place tonight…

On to pastures new.

Tonight we have arranged to try out somewhere different: Merched y Wawr
(the hall upstairs in this building). It is just up from the Ship and
Castle Pub on the other side of the road, round the corner from the big
building called Yr Albion. Here’s a map

Normal start time (6:30), we will finish at 8.30.

See you there hopefully!

Saturday 20th February, 1-4pm Buarth Hall, Stanley Road, Aberystwyth

This is a fantastic opportunity to train with a great Brazilian Capoeira master. Even if you have never done capoeira before or haven’t been to training for a while- this is the perfect time to come and share a fun afternoon with us.

Don’t worry, we will not be doing solid capoeira for 3 hours, there will be breaks and music too.

Money: Club funds will pay for the hall hire, we hope to confirm the workshop fee with the Mestre very soon. Probably going to be in the region of £10-15.

Hope to see you there! Here’s a google map link to the hall.

Training 2010

Happy New Year!

Ok so capoeira training times are back to normal  (that’s Mondays and Thursdays as per the training times page), but…

From the beginning of February till March Thursday’s session will switch to Friday -same time  (6:30), same place (PJM).

I will send out an e-mail end of this month to remind people.

Cheers,

Bongo.

Latest training update

Hey everyone,

Just to remind you all- there will be training this Thursday, 17th December, up at PJM- last one before the holidays so hope to see you there.

First training after that will be Monday 4th January with Dave, 6pm at the Buarth Hall.

Back to ‘normal’ the following week then.

Have a good one! 🙂

Bongo and Sam

We are lucky enough to be having instructor Cicatriz of Cordao de Ouro coming to Aberystwyth on Saturday 7th November, to give a capoeira workshop.  Everyone is welcome (including people who have done no capoeira before) so invite your friends!  If you haven’t tried capoeira yet, this is a great chance to give it a go.

It will be held in the Buarth Hall (see map), starting at 12 and running till 4:30pm.  Mark it in your diary!  There will be a good variety of different things including movement techniques, instrument playing, etc.  It is a fairly rare opportunity for us to have a qualified capoeira teacher in Aberystwyth, so do come along.

We don not have the usual venue for the following Thursdays, but have the room on Friday at the same time (6:30) instead:

12th November will move to Friday 13th November

19th November will move to Friday 20th November

26th November will move to Friday 27th November

3rd December will move to Friday 4th December

After that back to normal 🙂

Welcome

Welcome to any students who have just joined up and a big thank you to everyone that helped out with the freshers’ fayre stall on Tuesday. So the next training/ introductory session will be Thursday 6:30 pm (see training times page). It will be interesting to see how many we can fit in the reasonably small PJM room 😕 If you can’t make it this Thursday don’t worry, just come along next time.  People are starting all the time so you will not be the only beginner…

Freshers Fayre

The freshers fayre for sports clubs is on Tuesday 29th.  We shall be a mobile operation, with fliers and such like.  Any of you guys that can help us out with signing up new members would be most welcome.  For now we have a meeting place: the sports cage car park, 10am, to assemble and plan 😉
